The American Institute of Bangladesh Studies (AIBS) has released a comprehensive policy brief addressing the ongoing Rohingya refugee crisis, marking its sixth year. The brief offers a comprehensive analysis of the crisis, current challenges, and potential strategies to address the plight of the Rohingya community. The policy brief, titled “Rohingya Crisis: Current Challenges and the Way Forward” delves into the historical roots of the crisis, the impact of the 2021 Myanmar coup, and the evolving challenges faced by both Rohingya refugees and host communities. It emphasizes the importance of international attention and commitment to finding a just and durable solution to the crisis. Additionally, the policy brief underscores the role of justice and accountability in resolving the crisis.
